Now housed in St Serf’s Church, Dunning, Perthshire, this masterpiece of Christian sculpture once stood as a key feature of the Pictish royal palace at Forteviot. Among the elaborate carvings on all four faces are armed men, hunting dogs and the biblical King David playing the harp. A much-eroded inscription in Latin relates to the powerful Pictish king Constantín.
